The Northwest Community Bail Fund is a nonprofit organization advocating for bail reform and working to minimize the harm of the cash bail system by paying bail for people who would otherwise spend the pre-trial time in jail.
We are a registered 501(c)3 organization, EIN 83-1096468 . We currently operate in King and Snohomish Counties in Washington State.
NCBF works to ensure that people accused of crimes have an equal opportunity to defend themselves from a position of freedom. We provide cash bail for people who are unable to pay due to poverty and who are charged with crimes in King and Snohomish Counties and have no other holds. We also provide support to navigate the legal process with the aim of reducing pre-trial incarceration and its consequences, reducing the pressure to plead guilty.
NCBF’s end goal is to end the use of money bail and reform bail as a whole, but until that time we will continue to help post bail for as many as we can.
